Timeline Evolution of DTS and IT

DTS has grown along with the development of society.
Here we chronicle the growth of DTS over the past 50 years along with the progress in the computer and IT industries.

In order to make the history of DTS easier to understand, the chronological list is shown according to time periods since our foundation. This may cause some discrepancies between the items shown in the decades of the menu.

From 2010Becoming one of the leading system integrators in Japan

Expanding the global business and developing new business domains

40th anniversary ceremony

Various services utilizing the cloud progressed, and companies called Big Tech emerged. New technologies such as AI, IoT, and big data spread in an instant, and the environment surrounding business changed dramatically. We also developed new solutions to respond to this change.
We focused on raising the level of project management (PM), participating in large-scale financial integration projects and acquiring prime projects.
Furthermore, we are proceeding with the full-scale deployment of M&A on a global scale and the development of new business areas such as embedded systems.

    2011

    Full-scale overseas expansion

    From 2011, DTS further accelerated its M&As and started expanding overseas in earnest.
    November 2011: Established DTS America Corporation
    April 2013: Established DTS IT Solutions (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (DTS Thailand)
    April 2014: DTS SOFTWARE VIETNAM CO., LTD. (DTS Vietnam)
    2017: Capital tie-up with Nelito Systems Limited (India) (became a subsidiary in June 2019)
    2019: Increased investment in Dalian Super Electronics Co., Ltd.
    Acquired ownership of DTS SOFTWARE VIETNAM CO., LTD., Dalian Super Electronics Co., Ltd. (DLSE) and Super Electronics Co. Japan.

    “Walk in home” wins Special Jury Prize at Green IT Awards

    October 2011Established DTS palette Inc. as a special subsidiary.

    We established this company to promote the employment of people with disabilities as a corporate social responsibility, and to provide stable employment and rewarding jobs.

    November 2011Established DTS America Corporation.

    DaTaSuperExpress, a big data platform jointly developed by DTS and Hitachi, Ltd. won the Itpro

    EXPO AWARD 2012 Grand Prize.

    April 2013Established DTS IT Solutions (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

    Reorganization of domestic group companies

    Since 2014, we have executed a reorganization of our domestic group companies to optimize business. In 2014, we established DTS WEST CORPORATION to consolidate the SI business in the Kansai region. In the same year, we merged with FAITEC Co., Ltd. to consolidate the insurance business. And in 2018, we merged with DATALINKS CORPORATION and integrated its SI business.

    Aiming to improve PM abilities and technical skills

    In 2011, the Workplace Ability Improvement Committee was launched to improve PM abilities, productivity and quality. And DTS has achieved CMMI Level 4 certification and established its own development standard “PMS” that complies with it. In 2014, ISO9001 certification was acquired for the entire organization engaged in software design, development, support, and maintenance.

    April 2015DTS WEST CORPORATION was merged into SOUGOU SYSTEM SERVICE CORPORATION, and the company name was changed to DTS WEST CORPORATION

    March 2017Capital tie-up with Nelito Systems Limited in India

    Establishment of an embedded business company

    In order to strengthen our business, we made a full-fledged advance into embedded systems.
    In 2014, Art System Co., Ltd., which was strong in the medical field, and Yokogawa Digital Computer Co., Ltd., which was strong in the automotive field, went under the umbrella of the DTS Group.
    In 2015, part of the embedded-related business was split off and transferred to ART System Co., Ltd. Then in 2017, YOKOGAWA DIGITAL COMPUTER CORPORATION merged with ARTSystem Co., Ltd. to establish DTS INSIGHT CORPORATION.

    April 2017YOKOGAWA DIGITAL COMPUTER CORPORATION merged with ART System Co., Ltd. to establish DTS INSIGHT CORPORATION.

    Relocated headquarters to Hatchobori. Promoted health management

    In 2017, we relocated the head office to Hatchobori 2-chome, Chuo-ku.
    In 2019, for the purpose of promoting health management, we acquired “Eruboshi (second stage)” certification based on the Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Furthermore, in 2020, we were certified as a 2020 Health and Productivity Management Organization by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and were certified as an excellent health company (gold certification) by the Healthy Company Declaration Tokyo Promotion Council. In this manner, we focused on making it easier for employees to work and improved the environment.

    October 2018DATALINKS CORPORATION merged into DTS.

  • 2019

    June 2019Acquired additional shares of Nelito Systems Limited to make it a subsidiary.

  • 2021

    June 2021Acquired shares of I Net Rely Corporation to make it a wholly-owned subsidiary.

    We strengthened our network business.

    Expanding new services

    In 2018, we launched the anti-money laundering solution called AMLion. In 2020, we also signed a partnership agreement with ServiceNow, Inc. and began providing implementation support services for ServiceNow®, their IT service management platform.
    In 2018, we launched the Housing Core Framework, a core system for the housing construction industry developed jointly with a housing manufacturer, in the building and real estate fields. For the manufacturing industry, we also launched Pasteriot, an IoT Platform to enable the digitization of manufacturing sites by 2020 using the power of IoT and AI.
    In 2021, we launched a solution that automatically integrates with the My Number portal electronic application system for My Number cards, the need for which has increased significantly due to COVID-19.
    In addition, the use of our FAQ solution using AI-based natural language processing technology, “kotosora” (DTS WEST), continues to grow.

    Medium-Term Management Plan and organizational development

    We started promoting ESG management and addressing the SDGs based on our medium-term management plan. Our first integrated report was published in 2019.
    In terms of organizational structure, the Shiba Development Center and Daimon Development Center were merged into the Monzennakacho Development Center in 2020 to strengthen inter-organizational collaboration and improve productivity. In 2021, the Digital Solution Sector was newly established to develop and expand the cloud service business.
    And in April 2022, our 50th anniversary, we formulated our long-term vision “Vision 2030” and started a new medium-term management plan.

  • IT Industry

    This is what happened in the 2010s

    Cloud computing, which arose in the late 2000s, spread rapidly and data storage migrated to the cloud. In addition, various services now run on the cloud, and business systems are migrating after implementing security measures.
    In the 2000s, the keyword “ubiquitous” was the concept of connecting various devices to a network, but this progress further, becoming the “Internet of Things” (IoT). Furthermore, as the cloud computing infrastructure and the performance of terminals themselves continued to improve, the analysis and utilization of data advanced further through “AI” and “Big Data utilization” taking advantage of these capabilities.

    This is what happened in the 2010s

    Smartphones appeared in the late 2000s and were adopted at an accelerated pace. Even in the telecommunications environment, companies launched 4G LTE services, and other developments brought along faster communication speeds in the mobile communications field.
    As these environmental aspects continue improving, new technologies and services are coming into fruition one by one through smart homes, remote operations in medical and construction settings, electric vehicles and other mobility and automated driving technologies, the rise of electronic payment services, virtual currencies, and improvements in communication and computer performance.

    Existing mainstream languages were updated, and languages such as C++, Java, and C# were still used as dominant languages.
    At the same time, object-based languages started to become mainstream in development.
    Since 2010, languages such as Rust (Mozilla), Dart (Google), Kotlin (JetBrains), and Swift (Apple) have emerged.
